The wildfires continue to burn here in Cally...you can actually see ash in the air, Santa Monica is safe. Air quality is OK in Santa Monica but NOT GOOD in the valley which is most of my territory.
Leather face over here is the former CEO of Countrywide who is involved in a stock scandal. I saw him on CNBC and had to google hime. It all makes sense now, I know a lot of subprime peddlers at Countrywide (if they still work there) and this looks like the perfect slimeball to run the show. He looks like across between Uncle Bill and a leather jacket.
In other news, I want to throw the anonymous poster in the wildfire, I have a feeling that Mr. Anonymous is a West Springfield native, master fish griller, subpar bike rider, awful bocce player, and partier extraordinaire.
GO SOX!!! Lot of Sox haters out here...putting them in their place one by one.

1. Decent commentary on the wildfire situation, please keep us apprised as to details not available on national news outlets. Also, please let us know when you have tracked down the arsonist and also detail what you will do to him when you find him. One idea would be to give him the flowbee haircut, but that may border on cruel and unusual.
2.Don't turn into a Yankee fan when dealing with all the Sox haters out there, be humble in victory but wear the sox cap proudly. you are better than them, you know it, we know it, no need to be obnoxious a la typical yankee fans. Also, don’t forget about the Pats. They are decent too.
C. there is a very important request coming from central headquarters which we are hoping you can help with. in an effort to market to potential Santa Monica visitors, it is suggested that each week the readers of CaliforniaTransplants, or code word - caltrannie - be exposed to a detailed description of a specific establishment in the business of serving (or in frequent cases overserving) food and alcohol. the only requirements are that you have A.) visited this establishment, 2.) enjoyed the atmosphere/environment /fare, C.) would like to someday bring a visitor/guest to this establishment, and VII.a.clause4.niner.) feel comfortable that there is no other place exactly like it in the new England region. i.e. if you go to Chili’s and enjoy a few Presedente’s, we don’t need to know about it. Realizing you will often be tempted to choose a nice warm cup of ramen noodles over going out to eat, you may also substitute a place of business for places of interest. These would include parks, sea shores, mountainous areas, swimming holes, rodeo drive type tourist spots, etc, etc. etc. ABC jon. ABC. we have faith that within a month or two, reading your blog will sell us all on a necessary visit to the west, in addition to providing us with something to do at work other than work. Pictures will help. obviously.
Lastly, hopefully everything is going well and kate will arrive safe and sound this evening. so that she can help you write the blog.
